Why Liverpool target Jude Bellingham nearly missed Dortmund training camp

Should Liverpool complete their mission to sign Jude Bellingham in the summer they might want to keep his repatriation under close supervision.

Teenager Bellingham was due to fly to Marbella with the rest of his Borussia Dortmund teammates for a training camp this week, but the 19-year-old ran into trouble as soon as he arrived at the airport.

The England World Cup star was not allowed to check-in for his flight as he had forgotten to pack his passport with the rest of his belongings. It looked liked Bellingham, who is believed to be wanted by Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid, would be left behind by his teammates, but fortunately he had someone he could rely on to save the day.

After a quick phone call, Bellingham's own mother collected the passport from his home and drove to the airport to deliver it personally to her son, allowing Dortmund to get their training trip back on course.

Bellingham's form for Dortmund this season suggests that manager Edin Terzic might not go too hard on his young talisman, but if Liverpool manage to seal the deal on a record-breaking transfer deal in a few months time, a quick itinerary check before he looks to jump a flight back to England might be advisable.
