Liverpool legend Ian Rush has warned his former side that they could ‘easily lose’ to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening. The Gunners host Jurgen Klopp’s men in north London for a clash that could be key to both sides’ aspirations.
The Reds are aiming to cut the gap to Manchester City at the top of the Premier League and could potentially go just one point behind the current table toppers with victory. Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta will certainly be keen for his side to extend their positive recent run as they aim to secure a place in next season’s Champions League.
Intriguingly, both Liverpool and Arsenal are two of the most in-form players in the Premier League at the time of writing with eight and five consecutive league wins to their name respectively. Whilst the Reds of course represent a formidable opponent, Rush has warned Klopp and his charges that they will need to be at top form at the Emirates Stadium or they risk seeing their unbeaten run come to an end.

Speaking with Gambling.com, the former Welsh forward said: “Arsenal away on Wednesday looks like a very, very tricky game for Liverpool with the way the Gunners are playing at the moment.
“I’ve said from the start of the season that I fancied them to finish in the top four this term and right now it looks as though it’s theirs to lose.
“Liverpool will have to be at their best or they could quite easily lose at the Emirates. They might not have played as well as they can against Brighton or West Ham, but they were able to do enough.
“Against this Arsenal side, no less than their best will do, and that’s a credit to Mikel Arteta who has rewarded the club for their faith in him, bearing in mind there were quite a few calls for his head at the beginning of the season when they got off to a rocky start.”
Ahead of Wednesday evening’s showdown, the two sides have already been acquainted on three occasions so far this season. Liverpool won the previous Premier League clash 4-0, whilst they also sealed a 2-0 Carabao Cup victory following a scoreless draw in the first-leg of the semi-final tie.
