Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson have announced they are expecting their second child together via a surrogate, after initially keeping the pregnancy a secret.
The reality star, 38, and her ex-boyfriend Tristan, 31, already share daughter True, four.
They announced on Wednesday night their baby was conceived in November, meaning their due date is imminently approaching.
Khloe had kept her baby news a secret, even choosing not to tell her closest friends and certain members of her family. She said she was forced to announce the pregnancy before she was ready, after the news broke online.
"Khloe kept the pregnancy a secret to protect surrogate privacy and safety, and to protect her mental health from judgement from the public as a result of Tristan’s actions.
"Khloe's hand was forced to confirm the pregnancy before she was ready to announce," a source told Elle.
They added she had to issue the statement "even before she had the opportunity to personally tell her closest family and friends."
Khloe and Tristan have had an on-off romance for six years, but split last year when it was revealed that Tristan had fathered a child with another woman, Maralee Nichols.
Tristan and Khloe's new baby was conceived before Khloe discovered Tristan's infidelity.
A representative for Khloe told the Mirror: "Khloe is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing. We’d like to ask for kindness and privacy so that Khloe can focus on her family."
Tristan's love rat scandal became public in December, when it was revealed he had fathered a child with personal trainer Maralee Nichols, 31.
As well as Tristan's children with Khloe and Maralee, he has a third child, Prince, with his ex Jordan Craig.
It is understood Khloe and Tristan are not back together and haven't spoken about anything other than parenting matters since their split in December.
Dramatic scenes in which the Kardashians discovered Tristan's infidelity aired on their Hulu series earlier this year.
Viewers saw that Kim Kardashian was the first to uncover reports that Maralee had filed court papers claiming Tristan was the father of her child.
Khloe was seen breaking down in tears as she slammed Tristan for "humiliating" her.
