The Boston Celtics have asserted themselves as the best team in the NBA at roughly the fourth of the way through the league’s 2023-24 season, boasting the NBA’s best record and an impressive net rating to boot. With nine wins against teams with a .500 or better record, the Celtics have navigated the second-toughest schedule in the Association so far to secure their top spot in the rankings.

In the latest edition of the Volume “Hoops Tonight with Jason Timpf” podcast’s Power Rankings, host Jason Timpf surveyed the NBA landscape and sees the Celtics claiming the top spot, while the Minnesota Timberwolves emerge as formidable contenders.

Will Boston maintain their grip on pole position in the league’s standings? Or will a new challenger knock them off their pedestal as the season progresses?
