Why Jarrod Bowen pushed West Ham fan during TV interview after Europa Conference League heroics

West Ham made history on Wednesday night as they lifted their first piece of major silverware in 43-years to end their trophy drought. The Hammers were put through their paces in Prague as they faced Serie A side Fiorentina, who had impressed with their possession-based style under Vincenzo Italiano.

The first half ended goalless, but it wasn't without it's drama as a section of West Ham supporters threw various objects on the pitch when the opposition had a corner. One such incident saw Cristiano Biraghi struck, resulting in a wound on his head that had to be bandaged, followed by a warning over the tannoy system.

After the break, the Irons that would break the deadlock when Biraghi was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box, with Said Benrahma scoring the resulting penalty. Giacomo Bonaventura brought the game level shortly after though as the game seemed destined to reach extra-time.

That wasn't to be the case though as Lucas Paqueta's cutting through ball found Jarrod Bowen, who slotted home the deciding goal of the game. It sent players, coaches and fans into rapturous scenes alike as West Ham were confirmed winners and lifted the trophy on the pitch.

Players were called over for interviews, including one with match-winner Bowen, but it seemed as though some supporters got carried away again. One fan managed to gate crash an interview with BT Sport, singing an X-rated chant about the forward and his relationship with former Love Island star Dani Dyer.

The 26-year-old pushed the male spectator, saying: "Leave, leave, leave." while ushering him back towards the stands behind the goal. Despite that, Bowen tried not to let that interfere with his interview afterwards, saying: "I obviously dreamed of scoring but to score the winner in the last minute, it's what you always say you want to do. To do it in front of these fans, I thought I was going to cry.

“I'm just happy. We had a dream, we haven't had the best season, myself included, but to give these fans this moment, I'm over the moon.

"I think in my position, you make that run 10 times and you might get that ball once As soon as you get it you've got to put it away. Never [have I felt like this in my life].

"This is the biggest game of my career. The emotion, there was time for one more chance. I'm just so happy. I'm over the moon. I'm thinking of the party tonight. Listen to it [the fans], listen."
