Why isn’t WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark at the Summer Olympics with Team USA? Here’s the answer.

This year’s Olympics will bring together some of the best women’s basketball players on the world, but one of the game’s biggest stars will not be competing in Paris.

Indiana Fever rookie guard Caitlin Clark has broken WNBA records and positioned herself as one of the league’s defining figures, but she was not chosen for Team USA this year for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The reasoning is far less to do with Clark’s individual skillsets than the general roster construction with experienced players who have competed together in the years leading up to this Olympics.

Clark took the Olympic omission in stride, and it’d be an absolute shock if she wasn’t included on the Team USA roster for the 2028 Olympics.

It’s probably not a matter of if for when fans will get to see Clark play in the Olympic Games; it’s most likely a matter of when.
