That time of year has come round again and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! is back. This year's celebs are all on their way to the jungle but viewers have spotted one notable face was missing from the first episode.
Earlier this week, news broke that Matt Hancock MP, the former Health Secretary, would be a part of this year's line up. Photos emerged of the 44-year-old striding through Brisbane Airport and he even released a statement in The Sun about why he'd decided to take part.
Of joining the line up, Hancock, whose political whip has now been suspended as a result of his decision to take part, said: "While there will undoubtedly be those who think I shouldn’t go, I think it’s a great opportunity to talk directly to people who aren’t always interested in politics, even if they care very much about how our country’s run." But why has he yet to appear on the popular ITV reality series?

As with every other year, the celebrities taking part will appear in dribs and drabs during the first couple of episodes. Hancock, who has yet to have any screen time, will be a latecomer to the series. He is set to arrive in the jungle with comedian Seann Walsh, who himself has previously been the subject of controversy during his time on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018. You can read more about that here.
Hancock resigned from his position of Health Secretary in June, 2021 after breaking his own social distancing advice. It came after footage revealed the married politician kissing fellow married aide Gina Coladangelo. The dad-of-three ended his 15-year marriage to his wife Martha shortly before his affair was made public. Last month, Hancock was rumoured to have signed up for Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, however sources close to the figure denied reports.
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! continues on Monday, November 7, on ITV at 9pm. To see all updates on the show, go here.
