While over in Leith, Lee Johnson is still remaining hopeful of Hibs securing a much coveted European place despite four losses in a row themselves. The pair meet at Easter Road on Saturday lunchtime in the penultimate game before the Premiership split and both teams will know the high stakes in place. Johnson is yet to taste victory against his Edinburgh rivals since taking the Hibs job last summer and will be desperate to give Naismith an early scare to life in the Hearts hot seat.
Martin Boyle came up with a last grasp equaliser in a 1-1 draw when the teams first met in August then Hearts ran riot at the start of the year producing a scintillating showing to win 3-0. And the most recent tie was in the Scottish Cup when the Jambos once again were victorious by a three goal score line. Unfortunately on this occasion, punters who aren't in attendance at the sold out clash will be unable to watch the game on terrestrial TV.
Why isn't Hibs vs Hearts on TV?
Normally Sky Sports subscribers are able to watch the Edinburgh Derby live as part of their package. But this time the broadcaster has opted against using up their allowance for the season by airing this match. The Sky Sports package which allows them to show 48 games each campaign also only prohibits four games per stadium until 2024, when it rises to five. The broadcaster has just one game left at Easter Road this season so has decided against showing the game live.
