The show features a range of average household Brits, now well-loved TV stars, watching the best and weirdest of the week’s TV.
It’s proven popular with viewers across the UK, pulling in roughly four-and-a-half million overnight views per week.
Those millions of viewers will be disappointed tonight, however, as Gogglebox has been pulled from the usual Friday night line-up.
Here’s why and when you will be able to watch this week’s episode of the Channel 4 show.
Why is Gogglebox not on tonight?
The new series of Gogglebox has been cancelled on Friday, October 21, in order to make way for Friday Night Live.
For one week only, the stand-up and entertainment show from the Eighties is returning as part of Channel 4’s 40th-anniversary celebrations.
Ben Elton will be hosting a remake of the popular Channel 4 show, featuring some of the celebs he introduced to the UK for the first time back in the 1980s, such as Jo Brand, Harry Enfield, and Julian Clary.
Channel 4 said in a statement that the one-off 90-minute special will “unite the hottest new-wave stand-ups and character comedians alongside some original show legends in a dangerously live night of comedy”.
For those keen to see Gogglebox, the episode will still air this weekend, becoming available exactly one day later on Saturday, at 9pm.
