Why is Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway not on this weekend? Show axed in shake-up

Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway has been cancelled this weekend in a schedule shake-up.

The popular ITV show led by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly has been axed for this weekend, as the channel broadcast a live rugby match as England take on France in the Six Nations.

Fans expecting to see their favourite segments, including the popular End of the Show Show, the Happiest Minute of the Week - where people can win a Takeaway Getaway, and I'm A Celebrity... Get Out Of My Ear, will be disappointed as the show has been shelved for this week only to make space for the sporting event.

Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway won't be on next week (ITV)

Instead of airing Saturday Night Takeaway, ITV will broadcast the rugby match, which kicks off at 8pm. Coverage begins on ITV at 7.15pm, as the two countries battle it out in the final week of the Six Nations.

The pair addressed the show not being on next week during last week's programme, with fans left very disappointed at the news. Ant told the studio audience: "You may have heard some of you there's no show next week because of the rugby."

"No Saturday Night Takeaway next week due to rugby! Waaaaaahhh," one fan wrote with a crying emoji, as another penned online: "No Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway coz of rugby - would rather my Saturday Night Takeaway."

Ant and Dec turned into drag queens for a very special End of the Show Show (ITV)

In the first episode earlier this year, Ant and Dec transformed into drag queens, Lady Antoinette and Miss Donna Lee, for a very special End of the Show Show with Drag Race UK champions - The Vivienne, Lawrence Chaney and Krystal Versace.

Fans adored the routine, where the pair dressed up as the 'angels of the North' for a very special routine, where they sang lyrics including "don’t be bitter just be better" and "everyone with their own story we stand together, we work together".

Was it a one or a seven? (ITV)

During last week's episode, there was a bit of controversy as some fans were sure Sam Fender read the number wrong in a special prize competition called Chase The Rainbow, which was hosted by X Factor's Fleur East.

Some fans were convinced it was a 1 rather than a 7.

"Was that a 1 not a 7?? very similar!!" one penned, as a second added: "Think that was a 1 not a 7." A third wrote on social media: "I thought everyone was being silly, it's a 7... but rotating it round a bit, it is clearly a 1 as the top is too short. Soz."
