Why having Jaylen Brown guard Luka Doncic was the right call in Celtics-Mavericks

The Boston Celtics took care of business at American Airlines Arena on Monday night, beating the Dallas Mavericks 119-110. This was thanks to some excellent play from star Celtics forwards Jayson Tatum (39 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks) and Jaylen Brown (34 points, 2 blocks) in particular.

Solid games from veteran guard Jrue Holiday (17 points, 7 boards, 6 assists) and Al Horford (11 points, 6 rebounds) helped get Boston across the proverbial finish line on the road, making the Celtics’ Texas two-step mini road trip a resounding success after Boston beat the Houston Rockets the night before.

That the Celtics were able to get the win without star big man Kristaps Porzingis (out dealing with an inflamed knee according to the injury report) makes the win all the more impactful.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics! / Talkin’ Cs” podcasts took some time to talk about the game ahead of tipoff, including a prescient bit about who ought to guard Luka Doncic; check it out above!
