Gethin Jones was rested for Bolton Wanderers' loss on the road to Burton Albion but it poised to return this weekend against AFC Wimbledon.
The Wanderers vice-captain was missing from the matchday squad which lost 3-1 last night on the road to the Brewers at the Pirelli Stadium.
The Brewers went ahead thanks to Joe Powell's close range finish after eight minutes and things got worse shortly when John Brayford headed past James Trafford.

Wanderers then went three down on 18 minutes when Brayford headed home his second of the game as Bolton conceded three goals from set pieces.
Bolton improved a bit after the break and reduced the deficit late on when Dion Charles came off the bench to grab one back before full-time, but Wanderers ultimately tasted defeat at the Pirelli Stadium.
Jones was rested as he continues to be managed following his return to action from a fractured fibula as Evatt revealed what he told the dressing room at half-time when his side were 3-0 down.
He said: "We were going to rest Gethin, managing his workload as best we can so we’re doing that. We decided to leave him out tonight, but he’ll be back for Saturday.
“I said we have to win the second half and we did that. We won the second half. Picking teams is difficult. We’ve had so many games this month and we’ve still got three more and we manage people’s workloads as best we can, but we can’t keep picking the same 11. If we break them down we’re in trouble.
"Tonight was just about mentally and physically really more than anything else. We feel like we’re a good technical team but it wasn’t a night for technical footballers. It was a night for doing your jobs, dealing with their set plays, and building momentum in the game and then hopefully we could have brought them on to win us the game.
"But we’ve shot ourselves in the foot with seven minutes of not dealing with their set plays so we can look at it and we’ll dust ourselves down and go again Saturday.
"Does that make us a poor team or does that make undo all our good work? No, it doesn't, but it makes things a lot more difficult.
"Our margin for error was slim and it’s got even slimmer now so we have to make sure we win our next two home games and then rebuild some momentum again.”
