Elton John was among the biggest stars recruited to perform at the Platinum Jubilee concert - but had to pre-record his show. While the likes of Queen and Diana Ross were there in person, Sir Elton's absence was noted.
The concert marked a major part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations this weekend, airing on BBC 1, along with live coverage on BBC iPlayer. It sees icons from the music, comedy, film and arts worlds will pay tribute to The Queen.
Sir Elton was not able to appear in person because he is currently on a European tour. He was in Switzerland on Wednesday and is in Denmark and the Netherlands this week as part of his Goodbye Yellow Brick Road tour, BirminghamLive reports.

Sir Elton’s ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour has faced multiple postponements since kicking off in 2018, due to the Covid pandemic as well as the singer’s hip injury. The tour is the subject of a Disney+ documentary.
The Queen was not short of company though. Elsewhere on the bill are Queen featuring Adam Lambert, Diana Ross, Duran Duran, Craig David, Eurovision singer Sam Ryder, Ella Eyre, Elbow, Alicia Keys, Hans Zimmer, Mabel, Jax Jones, Celeste, Andrea Bocelli, Sigala and Nile Rodgers.
