Why EC not checking convoys of Mahayuti leaders: Sanjay Raut

SS (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut

Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Tuesday accused the Election Commission (EC) of being partial towards Opposition leaders, saying "they (EC) check our belongings, helicopters and private vehicles, but why are they not checking the convoys of Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar and other Mahayuti leaders?"

"Our luggage, helicopter, private jet, vehicles and everything is checked. They reach our homes. We dont have any issue with it if it is done impartially. Our luggage is checked but are the helicopters and vehicles of Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah also checked,?'' Sanjay Raut said while addressing reporters.

He also accused that money was being distributed in the election-bound Maharashtra by the top leaders of the Mahayuti alliance.

"What are they (Mahayuti leaders) carrying in their bags? Are there only garments in their bags? Are the observers not able to see the money distribution going on in Maharashtra?," Raut further added.

"We have told them repeatedly what's going on. But you continue to stop the convoy and helicopter of the opposition leaders. How many times will you do it now? We'll see," Raut added.
