Why Olivia Attwood quit I'm A Celebrity as ITV break silence on Love Island drop out

Love Island star Olivia Attwood has shocked fans after she was forced to quit I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! after just one day.

The Love Island star, 31, has now left the Australian jungle after the ITV reality show launched on Sunday with much fanfare following a two year break in Wales dur to the coronavirus pandemic.

Olivia made history as the very first Love Island star on the show, so her incredibly early exit from the jungle is likely to leave many fans gutted.

A spokesman for the ITV reality show said: "As a precautionary measure Olivia needed to leave the jungle to undergo some medical checks.

"Unfortunately, the medical team has advised it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as there needs to be further investigation.

"She has been absolutely brilliant and she'll be very much missed on the show.”

The reality TV star-turned-documentary maker shot to fame when she appeared on the third series of ITV2 show Love Island in 2017 and was known for regularly clashing with others in the villa.

Ahead of her debut in Australia, Olivia opened up about her diagnosis with ADHD and said the jungle may be a good environment for her.

Asked about her disorder, she said: "I’m hoping that the jungle will really suit me because the things that over stimulates my ADHD is too much blue light, phone, laptops, TV, caffeine, alcohol, too much sugar, all that stuff in our daily lives makes me a bit wild.

“Whereas there’s none of that in the jungle. I love nature and animals so I’m hoping it will have a nice effect on me."

The star also vowed she is a changed woman since appearing on Love Island when reflecting on her time on the reality show.

Olivia told The Mirror: "Hindsight and growing up is a great thing. The person I was when I went into Love Island… she was very angry.”

Olivia continued: “I was a pretty lost person before I entered Love Island, I didn’t know what I was doing with my life.

“I didn’t like boys. I was scorned by all the horrible ex-boyfriends I had, so I took a lot of baggage in there with me. I was hot headed.

"I was doing a lot of screaming and shouting, but now I’m in a happier place. I don’t feel the need to drop bombs for the sake of it. In my normal life I don’t argue with people ever."
