Erik ten Hag says he is looking for energy from his side after dropping Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Maguire for the match against Liverpool.
United host their fierce rivals at Old Trafford on Monday night, with both sides still searching for their first win of the new Premier League season.
Ten Hag's side lost on the opening weekend at home to Brighton before being thrashed by Brentford, while Liverpool have been held to draws by both Fulham and Crystal Palace.

A win on Monday night could be the catalyst for either side to find their form and kickstart their season, and Ten Hag has shown his faith in the likes of Anthony Elanga and Raphael Varane to go and do so.
Speaking ahead of the match, the Dutchman explained his United line-up and why he selected a fluid forward line.
"We know Liverpool are a really good team and you need to press them," he told BBC Sport ahead of the match. "You have to do that out of a block and need energy, that is why we went with Rashford, Sancho and Elanga.”
When asked about the decision to drop the club captain, Maguire, he added: “Varane is a very experienced player, won everything and will bring the communication in the back four. We want mobility and agility in the back four.”
