Why Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham could be affected by new Liverpool ownership bid

Nearly a week ago it was reported that Liverpool FC had effectively been put up for sale by their owners Fenway Sports Group, FSG, after confirming they were willing to seek new investment opportunities in the club and since that date several possible new owners have come to light.

Plenty of potential interested parties have emerged from the Middle East and USA and now there is a new name among those who could be tempted to purchase the club, namely multi-billionaire Mukesh Ambani.

Ambani has a net-worth of around £90billion and is rated by Forbes as the eighth richest person in the world and by his current business ventures is clearly a huge sports fan.

In 2008, Ambani bought IPL cricket team Mumbai Indians and also went on to help create Indian football's Super League and he seemingly has his next major move in sport planned out.

FSG are reportedly willing to sell for £4billion but it's unlikely Ambani will be put off by the price tag after being labelled 'the world's richest sports team owner'.

That description will likely be of great excitement for Liverpool fans, with many feeling as though FSG have not significantly backed Jurgen Klopp in many transfer windows.

While this news will come as a great delight to many in Merseyside, it's likely to be perceived as bad news for Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs, who could have to compete with a new billionaire owner who will certainly want to stamp his own mark on the team.

The latter two clubs have already been faced with a similar ordeal after Todd Boehly became the new Chelsea owner and parted with £278.4million to sign four top class players in the summer as he looks to invest in the squad.
