Arsenal and Chelsea could be set to take advantage of the plight at Everton with plenty of uncertainty surrounding the Merseyside club. Not only was Frank Lampard sacked as manager after their loss to West Ham on Saturday, much criticised owner Farhad Moshiri has since reportedly put the club up for sale.
Evertonians have complained publicly at games about the poor running of the club and have protested against Moshiri and his new look footballing department. With the club saved from relegation by Lampard last season they have failed to kick on and are arguably in a worse position now than they ever were last term.
Sitting 19th in the league with just 15 points and only three wins all season, Lampard has paid the price for the poor form. The struggle has also clouded the futures of several star players, with Amadou Onana and Anthony Gordon the two that have been linked with a move away in order to raise funds.

Everton haven't been able to sign anyone this month and Lampard was told that it would be a loans only window. This negates all possible strength the Toffees have when it comes to negotiations for the best players. Chelsea and Arsenal are looking to take advantage of the situation, specifically looking at Onana.
The 21-year-old midfielder only joined in the summer but has gained plaudits for his marauding work in front of the defence. It is exactly the position that both London clubs are keen to strength in.
Chelsea are desperate for a midfielder and have re-opened talks over a Premier League record breaking £106m deal for Enzo Fernandez whilst Moises Caicedo may have been priced out of a move this month.
Arsenal are looking to get back-up for Thomas Partey as the destroyer in defensive midfield and have turned their attention to Onana, with Declan Rice likely to be pursued in the summer.
Onana missed training on Tuesday which led to increased speculation over him moving away in the final week of the window. Although there hasn't be a reason given for the absence it is said that it was planned, with Tony Scott of the Liverpool Echo claiming the player was given time off to attend a wedding.

Sky Sports reported: "Anthony Gordan was not at training, he didn't report to Finch Farm with the rest of his teammates yesterday, they trained at around 3pm. Amadou Onana was also an absentee. We're not sure in regards to Gordon exactly where he's been but the explanation we were given from the club was that both absences were planned."
Gordan, having been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea over the summer, has now also emerged as a target for Newcastle.
