Tiger Roll roared into the history books by becoming the first horse in 46 years to win back-to-back Grand National victories.
Davy Russell rode the now-Aintree legend to a record victory as millions of racing fans watched on around the country.
The Gordon Elliott trained nag went off at a price of 4/1 and he duly delivered, matching the achievement of Red Rum, who won in 1973, 1974 and then added a third in 1977.
Tiger Roll took over the lead from Magic Of Light going towards the final fence and then stormed on to the finishing post after a near-faultless ride.
Magic Of Light held on for second place ahead of a charging Rathvinden, while Walk In The Mill came home in fourth.

Winning owner Michael O'Leary said: "It's unbelievable. It's a phenomenal training performance by Gordon. It's brilliant that he keeps bringing this horse back at Cheltenham better than ever and Aintree better than ever.
"And what a ride by Davy - fantastic. It's unbelievable, to win two Grand Nationals is just incredible.
"It's a great result for the punters as well."
Trainer Gordon Elliott admitted he was emotional watching Tiger Roll fly home.
He said: "From the last home I was nervous, but he was travelling so well the whole way.

"He's named well - he's a tiger - and he knows how to win.
"I don't get upset too often, but I'm emotional today. For my whole yard and everyone involved it's unbelievable - you dream about this."
