AnEsonGib announced himself again as a major player in YouTube boxing with a stunning come-from-behind knockout victory over Austin McBroom in the main event. The Brit was dropped in the first, before getting back up and knocking out his bitter rival with five knockdowns.
Having lost his professional debut in embarrassing fashion and a robbery in his comeback fight, all eyes were on the Saudi Arabian-born influencer. And he delivered with a classic showing in YouTube boxing history as he got up from a knockdown and landed five of his own to put down Social Gloves promoter McBroom.
No winner was declared in the first celebrity bout of the night as Cory Wharton and Chase Demoor struggled to land anything of note in their exhibition fight. Wharton was considerably smaller, but appeared to be the better boxer of the pair.
Had there been scorecards Wharton would likely have done enough to land the victory, while Demoor struggled to even keep his mouthpiece in, much less land a punch.
Demoor called out Tayler Holder in his post-fight interview; a near-impossible match-up given the 40lb weight difference between the pair. Meanwhile, Wharton has vowed to fight again, but against an opponent his own size.
The size difference was the name of the game again in the first professional bout of the celebrity portion of the card as Adam Saleh and Landon McBroom drew in an ICB middleweight title fight. A key early moment was the second round flurry from McBroom, who looked to impose himself, but Saleh managed to avoid a lot of his punches.
McBroom's control of the ring proved a little bit too difficult for Saleh to deal with at times, but when the New Yorker decided to throw punches he seemed the better boxer. A disaster outcome for Social Gloves, whose other undercard celebrity bouts were unscored exhibitions.
A battle of the NFL running backs was one of the star attractions of the night, and Le'Veon Bell delivered a huge KO win over Adrian Peterson. The pair didn't throw much in the early exchanges, before they decided to work behind their jabs in the second. Bell hit the deck early in the second after planting his feet incorrectly, but despite a jab having been thrown it wasn't ruled a knockdown.
The action intensified in the third, but only slightly with Bell showing glimpses of promise in a generally uneventful round, including a stiff jab and very little in the fourth. But Bell ultimately closed the night at the start of the fifth with a huge right hand over the top to send Peterson to the canvas.
Nick 'Swaggy P' Young showcased an outlandish set of skills when he faced short-notice replacement Minikon in the evening's co-main event. No winner was scored after Young was sent through the ropes following a few brief shots from his rival, and decided that he didn't want to continue after a time out.
The basketball star had little to no defence, but managed to land some massive shots on the Texan, who took the fight on just two days' notice. Minikon showed that lack of preparation in numerous aspects of his fight, but seemed to be getting the edge as Young went through the ropes. After the bout, they both seemed keen to be viewed as winner, although fans likely won't view either as such.
