Who will take charge of Chelsea against Fulham as Thomas Tuchel sacked following Dinamo defeat

After 100 games, Thomas Tuchel has parted ways with Chelsea. The Blues new ownership group pulled the trigger following Tuesday night's Champions League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb and are now set to be without a head coach for the trip to Craven Cottage this weekend as they look to get their season back on track.

The new owners hope to appoint a manager swifty but there does not appear to be an immediate appointment ready.

In a statement Chelsea said: "Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Thomas Tuchel.

"On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club. Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here.

"As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition.

"Chelsea’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach.

"There will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made."

With Tuchel's close relationship to to Arno Michels and Zsolt Low having worked with them at previous clubs, despite them being the protagonists during the German's previous absences.

It appears Anthony Barry - who combines his role on the Chelsea coaching staff with one at the Belgian national side - is likely to be the figure to lead coaching staff before a new head coach is appointed.
