It will be interesting to see if the Central government appoints someone from the private sector, as they did in 2021 when Mallika Srinivasan became the first private sector expert to lead the PESB.
Before becoming the chairperson of the PESB Mallika Srinivasan was the chairman-cum-managing director (CMD), Tractors and Farm Equipment (TAFE) Limited.

All options are discused
Many questions were raised then on the government's decision to appoint a person from the private sector as the head of PESB for the first time. Therefore, the question remains the same whether the government will give this post to a person from the private sector this time too or will appoint a government official, which had been tradition till the appointment of Mallika Srinivasan as the Chairman of PESB.
According to information received by Dynamite News from some sources, both the options are being discussed within the government for the post of PESB Chairman.
Apart from some prominent bureaucrats, including some IAS officers, some prominent names from the private sector are also being considered for this post.
According to the information, the government may also ask the PESB board to suggest some names.
