Who was on the Buckingham Palace balcony? Every Royal who came out to greet the crowds

King Charles III and Queen Camilla made their first appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace following their coronation. The King and Queen, dressed in regal robes and wearing their crowns, waves as they were met with cheers from the crowds.

The Mall was filled with people who had braved downpours to see a colourful ceremonial military procession not seen for 70 years. Charles and Camilla were joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, and the pages of honour.

Princess Anne and her husband Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence were also on the balcony, along with the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their children Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex. They were joined by Camilla’s Ladies in Attendance.

They watched the military flypast, originally intended to be made up of more than 60 aircraft from the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force. However, it was scaled down to include only helicopters and the Red Arrows due to the poor weather.

The flypast lasted for two minutes and thirty seconds rather than the scheduled six minutes. At least 10 helicopters took part in the flypast alongside a Red Arrows squad of nine Hawk jets.

On the Buckingham Palace balcony, Prince George and Princess Charlotte smiled and gazed up as the Red Arrows soared overhead during the military flypast. Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte could be seen waving to the crowds from the palace balcony after arriving back from the coronation at Westminster Abbey.

At one point, Louis drummed his fingers on the balcony railing as he stood in front of his parents. The royal family spent a little under 10 minutes on the balcony before going back inside.

The King and Queen then re-emerged moments later to loud cheers from the crowds watching below. Camilla then called for their pages to help them rearrange their trains.

They went back into the palace shortly before 2.40pm, with the King lingering for one final wave.
