Abby Choi’s ex-husband and former in-laws have appeared in court after being charged in connection with her death.
The 28-year-old socialite and model was reported missing on Wednesday and the details of her gruesome killing have shocked Hong Kong where she lived and worked.
Investigators found Ms Choi’s head in a three-storey house on Sunday in a cooking pot, days after her other body parts were found in the same location in a fridge. A meat slicer and an electric saw were also found.
The location was 17 miles from where she was last seen in Kowloon City in Hong Kong on Tuesday.
Her ex-husband Alex Kwong, Kwong’s brother Anthony and their father Kwong Kau have all been charged with murder and Kwong’s mother, 63, has been charged with obstruction.
Hong Kong police chief Alan Chung said it is believed Choi and her former in-laws had financial disputes involving “huge sums”.
The elder Kwongs were arrested on Friday and Alex Kwong was intercepted on Saturday while trying to leave the city by boat, police said.
