Who Wants To Be A Millionaire fans brand Craig Charles a 'genius'

Craig Charles has been praised for his choice of phone-a-friend on tonight's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Host Jeremy Clarkson welcomed three famous faces, who were all trying to win big money for their chosen charities. In the hot seat on Tuesday's episode were Harry Redknapp, Craig Charles and Sam Quek.

Unfortunately for Harry, he left the studio emptyhanded after failing to correctly answer which actor played Rambo in the action movie series.

Next up was Liverpool-born DJ and actor Craig Charles, who thankfully had more luck. And when the former Corrie star got stuck on a question, he knew exactly who to call.

He had been asked: "Who is credited with creating the character Batman, which first appeared in print in 1939?". The options were Bob Kane, Jerry Siegel, Stan Lee or Steve Ditko.

Craig didn't know the answer, so used his phone a friend lifeline and made a call to The Chase's Shaun Wallace. The Dark Destroyer of course knew the correct answer of Bob Kane, helping Craig secure thousands of pounds.

Fans at home were loving his choice of friend to call. Taking to Twitter, Alex Clayton said: "What an absolutely cracking choice for 'phone a friend'".

Suhail Patel said: "Shaun Wallace should be everyone's phone a friend! Lol. Legend", while Jas said: "Ringing a Chaser is pretty bloody genius I must say". James said: "Lloyd from Corrie calling the Dark Destroyer"
