So Charles is throwing open the east wing of Buckingham Palace to visitors and charging a whopping £75 for access (Buckingham Palace’s east wing opens to public for first time for £75 tours, 10 July). The taxpayer has recently coughed up a huge £370m for a gold-plated refurbishment of the palace, so will the proceeds from all those who unwisely pay £75 be going back to the Treasury, or will the cash end up in the very large pockets of our greedy king? I give you one guess.
