Who Manchester United should keep and sell in the summer transfer window

It's likely to be another summer of change at Manchester United but that could mean just as many players leaving Old Trafford as ones arriving.

Though Manchester City winning the treble stings, it's still been a year of progress and positivity at United who are finally heading in the right direction again under Erik ten Hag. The manager inherited a mess on and off the pitch 12 months ago but has already turned the team into an entertaining, cohesive unit which has won a trophy and returned to the Champions League.

But if United are to truly compete with their neighbours for the Premier League title then the squad needs improving. New signings are needed with a striker the top priority alongside a new midfielder, right-back, centre-back and goalkeeper.

The club appear to have made a good start to the summer after agreeing personal terms with Chelsea star Mason Mount and holding talks with promising Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund but there's plenty more work to be done. But some players will also have to be moved on to make way for the newcomers.

Captain Harry Maguire, fellow defenders Eric Bailly, Alex Telles and Brandon Williams have all been earmarked for sales as has Anthony Martial, though his latest injury may scupper any chance of a transfer. Additionally, there is speculation surrounding the futures of Dean Henderson, Donny van de Beek, Victor Lindelof, Scott McTominay, Fred and Anthony Elanga.

David de Gea's place at United is still far from certain. The goalkeeper's current contract expires this summer and though United have the option to extend it by a year on the same terms they are working to sign an extension on reduced wages but no agreement has been reached as of yet. Several high-profile mistakes towards the end of the campaign once again called the Spaniard's place in the team into question with United now said to be eyeing a new goalkeeper in the market.

But who do you think United should keep and sell in the summer? United currently have at least 34 players on their books and you can use the widget below to decide the fate of each of them. The results will be published later this week.
