Andy Robertson and Virgil van Dijk both voted for Lionel Messi in the men's player award at the 2022 Best FIFA Awards - with their Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah picking Vinicius Junior.
Messi beat French forwards Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema to the prize. The 35-year-old captained Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar, and scored 27 goals in 49 games for club and country in 2021/22.
And following the ceremony in Paris, in which Lionel Scaloni, who led Argentina to their third World Cup title, was named men's coach of the year, and Emiliano Martinez was recognised as the best men's goalkeeper, the details of who voted for who were released by FIFA.

After picking Paris Saint-Germain star Messi in first place, Van Dijk then selected team-mate Salah as his second choice and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne as his third pick. Robertson also selected Messi and Salah, with Messi's PSG team-mate Kylian Mbappe getting the nod in second.
Salah’s number one choice was Vinicius, whose goal earned Real Madrid a 1-0 win over Liverpool in last season's Champions League final in Paris. De Bruyne was Salah's second pick and Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi his third.
Since 2005, FIFPRO has invited the world’s professional footballers to choose their World 11. It is the only global player award decided exclusively by footballers. Players from 68 countries made submissions for the 2022 FIFA FIFPRO World 11.
While Liverpool defender Van Dijk was named in the 2022 FIFA FIFPro Men's World 11. It was the third time the Dutchman has made the side.
