On Tuesday, (August 24) five new celebrities took on the Celebrity MasterChef challenge in heat three. Previous heats have seen comedian Kae Kurd and Nancy Dell'Oilio leave the competition and Cliff Parisi and Mel Blatt gain a place in the semi-final.
Competing to make it through were actors Clarke Peters and Lesley Joseph, former professional footballer Jimmy Bullard, TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher, and actor-comedian Richard Blackwood enter the kitchen. You can read more about them here. The tasks set by judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace included using mystery ingredients and mastering Japanese street food Okonomiyaki.
The final challenge was to create their own dinner party choice. Richard's was Caribbean lamb chops with honey-roast potatoes and parsnips; Jimmy's the sea bass with pea-mint puree risotto; Lesley a Tarte Tatin; Kirsty a Thai-green chicken curry; and Clarke's vegetable lasagne bake.

Unfortunately, Clarke's vegetable lasagne bake did not impress John and Gregg and he was the first celebrity from heat three to be sent home. He said: "Yes, I'm so glad that I came along and gave it a go... I wanted to challenge myself, push myself, and I have. I'm not leaving with nothing, I have gained something more, and that's what I'm happy for."
Jimmy was able to impress the judges with his sea bass with pea-mint puree risotto leaving him in a strong position for the next episode. Richard, Jimmy, Lesley, and Kirsty will now have to make crepe Suzette in just 20 minutes and cook a dish where vegetables are the centrepiece in the next episode.
If successful in heat three they will join McFly band member Danny Jones and reality TV star Faye Winter from heat one in the semi-final. You can read the full lineup of celebrities for Celebrity MasterChef here.
Celebrity MasterChef continues on BBC One on Thursday, August 25 at 8pm.
