Tyson Fury's wife Paris: The teenage sweetheart and mother of his five children

Tyson Fury has been through the wringer in recent years - but one person has constantly been by his side.

The former heavyweight world champion binged on drink and drugs for more than two years as he struggled to cope after dethroning Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.

But as some of his other relationships fell apart - including that with uncle and former trainer Peter Fury - Tyson's wife Paris stuck by him.

The mother of his five children has regularly been pictured with the undefeated boxer but has largely stayed out of the limelight herself.

Here is what we know about the woman who appears have made Fury happy...

When did they meet?

Fury has known Paris for most of his life, meeting her 18 years ago when she was just 15 when they attended a mutual friend's wedding.

At the time she was known by her maiden name Paris Mulroy and the pair spoke briefly before going their separate ways but would be reunited a year later on a night out in Doncaster for Paris' 16th birthday.

Paris has said: "He was my first boyfriend as I was not allowed a boyfriend until the age of 16. He is the only boyfriend I have had.

“Tyson would train in boxing during the week and then come and see me at the weekend. I would always be so excited at the thought of seeing him.”

When did they get married?

The couple began to date and tied the knot in 2008 in front of around 400 guests in Paris' home town of Doncaster - and slept together for the first time after the wedding.

"Even after we got engaged, Tyson would sleep in a caravan in the yard of my parents’ home, while I slept inside the house," Paris says. "We didn’t sleep together until after we got married. That is the traveller’s way."

Is Paris a Traveller?

Yes, Paris was born into a travelling family.

She has said: "I am a Traveller, I am a gypsy. I was brought up in caravans when I was a little girl.

"It's just the traditional lifestyle; there's no real definition, there's no bloodline because we never went to the doctor to say we are who we are.

"There was no paperwork, there are still gypsies today who can't read or write; we're just that old fashioned."

How many children do they have?

Tyson and Paris have five children together and clearly love their large family.

Their first child was brought into the world in 2009 when Venezuela was born and she was followed two years later by her baby brother Prince John James. Keen to keep his name alive, Tyson named his third child - and second son - Prince Tyson Fury II when he was born in 2016.

His second daughter Valencia Amber was born in 2018 and in 2019 their family was completed - at least for now - when Prince Adonis Amaziah was born.

Fury has also spoken about Paris' miscarriage in 2014 which happened at the same time as his uncle Hughie was dying in the same hospital.

"I've never spoken about this before, but my wife Paris gave birth to a child at six months old that was dead," Fury told the Daily Telegraph.

"I had to be there when she was delivering the baby. We were in one side of the hospital and my uncle Hughie was dying on the other side of the hospital, at the same time.

"That was the end of 2014, and I suppose I didn't really think about it. I stopped myself from thinking about it. I needed to put it to the back of my mind."

What has Tyson said about Paris?

In his book, Behind the Mask, Tyson admitted his marriage had been tested to its limits.

Ahead of its launch last year, he said: “It’s not been an easy road. Life and being with someone for a long time isn’t always easy.

"But Paris understands me and I understand her and what I think is this – all men are the same. We’re all a***holes anyway so you're better off with the devil you know than the one you don’t.

“You’re never going to get your perfect man or woman unless they’re a Stepford husband or wife. If we focus on people’s flaws then we’re never going to be happy with each other.

“Everyone has good and bad points, everyone argues and gets upset for nothing some days, but the good times outweigh the bad so we crack on with it. It’s called marriage.”
