Week one

In their introduction video Traffic Cone said the shape of their costume is like something close to their heart.

They also said they had a "sporting" chance of keeping the viewers at home and judges guessing. Traffic Cone also referred to themselves as the "OGTC".

In their video they also told viewers at home: "I'm hoping I'm on the road to success, cos there ain't no Plan B." There was also reference to a "troublemaker".

After their performance Traffic Cone also offered an extra clue and told the panel: "I made money taking my top off."

Week two

In their second video, Traffic Cone was seen with a tennis racket and ball and made lots of references to the sport.

The character siad: "I squared off against the fourth best in the world once. Cheeky!

"But I also got smashed at Wimbledon. Still, there's nothing like the sound of fans in the stands shouting your name."

Fan theories

Many ITV viewers are convinced Traffic Cone is Welsh legend Sir Tom Jones.

"TRAFFIC CONE is definitely Tom Jones," wrote one fan. "I remember him saying on The Voice he worked in construction before he made it big!"

A second agreed: "Tom Jones IS traffic cone."

But a second Welsh theory is that Traffic Cone is singer and radio and television presenter Aled Jones.

One fan said: "Traffic Cone is none other than Mr Aled Jones - could hear his voice clear as anything #MaskedSingerUK."

"#MaskedSingerUK Traffic cone is completely Aled Jones. Just listened back to him!!!," another said.

In fact, opera singer Russell Watson is convinced Traffic Cone is Aled Jones too, you can read more on this here.

Following Traffic Cone's rendition of Never Gonna Give You Up in week one some viewers thought it could be Rick Astley behind the mask.

It comes after A-Ha's Morten Harket sang one of his own songs in a double bluff last year.

One fan wrote: "I think that's Rick Astley pulling a Morten Harket #trafficcone #TheMaskedSinger."

Another added: "That actually does sound like Rick Astley! He doing a Morten Harket??? #TheMaskedSinger."

The Masked Singer UK returns on Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
