From our TV screens to sports grounds, you'll spot people from Nottingham in plenty of places. There are plenty of people from our city and county that has made a name for themselves.
Vicky McClure is often seen on our TVs. The Line of Duty star is a BAFTA-award-winning actress and a proud ambassador for the city. The Wollaton star is now best known for playing Kate Fleming in Line of Duty, but first made a name for herself as Lol in gritty drama This is England.
Double Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington also helped put the area on the map when she won two gold medals at the 2008 Olympic Games. She now works as a pundit on the BBC's coverage of the sport.

But there were plenty who made our area known long before them. Pharmacologist Stewart Adams co-created the painkiller ibuprofen in 1961 and Laura Knight is perhaps the city's most celebrated artist.
Former Nottingham Forest manager Brian Clough became an adopted Nottinghamian after 18 years in charge of the club, while Stuart Broad continues to be part of the England test cricket team.
