SCOTTISH tennis player Jacob Fearnley is facing off against Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon this week.

Djokovic is currently the second-best player in the world (singles) and has won Wimbledon a total of seven times.

When will Jacob Fearnley play Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon?

Jacob Fearnley will play against Novak Djokovic tomorrow (Thursday, July 4). However, the time of this clash is yet to be decided by Wimbledon organisers.

Who is Scottish tennis player Jacob Fearnley?

Jacob Fearnley is a 22-year-old Scottish tennis player from Dalkeith near Edinburgh who has a career-high ATP singles ranking of 271 globally. 

He also has a doubles ranking of 238 which he achieved on May 20, 2024.

He made his professional debut in 2023 when he won his maiden ATP Challenger doubles title at the Nottingham Open with Johannus Monday.

He also won his first singles ATP Challenger title at the 2024 Nottingham Open as a qualifier, defeating British player Charles Broom in the final.

He has won around $58,121 in prize money so far.

Is Andy Murray competing at Wimbledon 2024?

Andy Murray has pulled out of this year's Wimbledon singles but will play alongside his brother Jamie in the men's doubles.

A statement from his team read: "Unfortunately, despite working incredibly hard on his recovery since his operation just over a week ago, Andy has taken the very difficult decision not to play the singles this year.

"As you can imagine, he is extremely disappointed but has confirmed that he will be playing in the doubles with Jamie."

He is also competing in the mixed doubles with Emma Raducanu. 

Wimbledon 2024 takes place over two weeks between July 1 and July 14.
