Arsenal are interested in signing Brazilian starlet Savinho, according to recent reports.
The north London outfit are yet to complete a single first-team signing in the January transfer window, with Mikel Arteta and co continuing to search for a top-class midfielder and a long-term replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and out-of-contract forwards Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette.
Now, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Gunners, along with a host of other European clubs, are interested in Atletico Mineiro teenager Savinho.
Here, football.london takes a closer look at the talented youngster and what he would bring to the Emirates Stadium if he was signed before Monday night's transfer deadline.
Who is Savinho?
Aged just 17, Savinho, also known as Savio, is a promising forward born in Duque de Caxias, Brazil.
He is a versatile player, capable of operating anywhere across the frontline when called upon.
Why are Arsenal interested?
The Gunners have previously had success buying teenage talents from Brazil, purchasing Gabriel Martinelli from Ituano in the summer of 2019 for a bargain price of £6million.
Martinelli has since established himself as one of the Premier League's most talented young forwards, winning the league's player of the month award for his excellent form in December.
Perhaps the success of the 20-year-old has convinced technical director Edu to acquire more talents from his homeland, with Savinho another teenager with sky-high potential.
The promising attacker, who reportedly has a £60m release clause, has excellent ball control, raw pace and intelligent movement, and displayed his ability for Brazil's U15s as they won the 2019 South American U-15 Championship, netting four times in the process.
What has been said?
Writing on his Twitter page, transfer expert Romano said: "Atletico Mineiro talent Savinho (born in 2004) is attracting interest from many clubs. Red Bull group have made a proposal to sign him and keep Savinho in Brazil - also Arsenal are keeping tabs on this Brazilian boy.
"Race still open, interesting one for the future."
