A new group has taken a bite out of the Big Apple, but don't expect Sai De Silva's husband to appear on The Real Housewives of New York season 14 any time soon.
Joining the new RHONY cast—all of whom were well-received on their premiere, which aired on Sunday, July 16 on Bravo (it's streaming on Peacock if you want to catch up!)—Sai is a 42-year-old wife and mommy who runs the lifestyle site, Scout the City, which has gotten the attention of exclusive brands like Dior and Bentley. It covers everything from non-screen toys for kids to fairytale-like dresses for women. She even features a few cameos of her little ones, London and Rio, on the reality show, but their dad is famously M.I.A.
Given that she's well-known in the social media sphere, especially as a lifestyle blogger, you'd think we'd get an introduction to the man who has been in her life for 14-plus years, but the couple is mum on specifics—something that doesn't happen very often on reality TV. So who is Sai de Silva's husband and what do we know about him?
Who is Sai De Silva's husband and why won't he be on 'RHONY'?
Originally, we were going to get a sneak peek inside Sai De Silva's marriage to husband David Craig, as promised during a chat with Hoda and Jenna on the TODAY Show.
“This is going to be a big deal. Everyone’s going to see him,” she said on the program. “He’s not on social media so he has no idea what people are saying, what anyone is discussing. He’s just showing his face and showing support for his wife.”
But, according to a chat on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen following the season premiere, David will remain on the DL. According to multiple sources, he runs the family home and takes care of the children when Sai needs to tend to her business. He also has a 22-year-old from a previous marriage.
Something tells us we won't get too much insight, and given that Sai has written on Scout in the City that David "likes his privacy," we have a feeling this is a behavior he's planning to stick to.
"In a world where we share everything, it’s nice to have something that is private in my life," she wrote on her blog. "It keeps my sanity and I also think having a little mystery is fun. However, he is very involved when it comes to his family and I think he should win an award for father of the year!"
Fans react to Sai and the new 'RHONY' season 14 cast:
Whether or not David makes a cameo, fans are definitely pleased with the refreshing new cast of the Bravo franchise, even though they worried earlier this year that RHONY was canceled.
The group features vibrant, creative New Yorkers who extend beyond the Upper East Side and feel authentic to NYC 2023. But of course, you will definitely be catching some drama amongst these ladies—it is The Real Housewives, after all. Judging from Twitter's views, these newbies are a thumbs up. (See below for fans' reactions.)
Bravo head honcho Andy Cohen said in an "Ask Andy" segment on Watch What Happens Live: "They’re super fashionable. The things that they are arguing about are as ridiculous as early RHONY. I think it’s going to be a different show. It’s so hard because everyone is going to compare it to RHONY, which was so perfect. And I hope this is perfect in a totally different way.”
