Rangers have been linked to Sunderland striker Ross Stewart as Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side continue to look to next season.
The 25-year-old Scotsman is rumoured to be on the Ibrox side's radar, with Norwich City and Swansea also eyeing him up.
Stewart is currently a key part of Alex Neil's squad as the Black Cats bid to play their way into the play-offs in the final five games of the 2021/21 campaign.
The Scot is the joint-leading scorer in League One so far this season with reports this week suggesting that form has helped catch the eye of the Scottish champions.
Stewart mainly plays as a central striker, working between with width of the box as well as getting involved and build-up play on the pitch.
He won his maiden call-up to Steve Clarke's Scotland team last month for friendlies against Poland and Austria.
But where has his career taken him so far and why has it sparked Rangers' interests?
Record Sport takes a look.
Humble beginnings
After spells within the youth systems of professional clubs, Stewart moved down to what was once known as the West Region Juniors with Ardeer Thistle and then Kilwinning Rangers.
He then made the step up to senior football with Albion Rovers in July 2016.
The part-time Coatbridge side were unable to pay the £1,500 transfer fee to snap up the striker, with the funds instead provided by the club's supporters as well as Stewart's dad.
Cameron Stewart stumped up five ton to force through the move as his son told Record Sport last year: "Gus MacPherson at Queen's Park was trying to get me to go there but they couldn't pay a fee because they were an amateur club.
“Kilwinning wanted money for me which I wasn't too happy about. I was young, I had the chance to take a step up so their demands for a fee was killing me.
“Albion Rovers then came in but only had so much of what Kilwinning were asking for.
“To top it up to the asking price, my dad paid the rest of it himself. I think it was another £500.
“He basically had to buy me out of my Kilwinning contract and pay the rest of the transfer fee.
“I've paid him back now! I can only look back now and realise what a good decision it was from him.
“It's probably the best £500 he's ever spent. He keeps telling me that."
Going pro
After just one season with Albion Rovers, the striker moved to St Mirren, who were in the Scottish Championship at the time.
Stewart signed a two-year deal with the club but failed to break into the first time team and was instead loaned out to Alloa Athletic in December 2017, where he remained for the rest of the season.
He would make only one top flight appearance for the Buddies after they were promoted in his absence under Jack Ross before he put pen to paper and became a Ross County player.
He made his debut for the club in a 2-1 victory against Hearts Colts in the Scottish Challenge Cup.
Stewart went on to score his first goal for the club in the next round of the cup competition where County beat Montrose.
He finished the season with 11 goals in total for his new club - three of which came against Highland rivals Inverness.
Ross County were then promoted to the top flight at the end of the 2018-19 season.
Stewart remained at the club until January of last year with a total of 82 appearances and 28 goals for the Staggies.
His big move and THAT nickname
In January 2021, Stewart made the move down south to join League One side Sunderland for an undisclosed fee.
The striker enjoyed a dream debut as he bagged off the bench to hand the Wearside men a crucial win over Accrington Stanley.
But it's this season he's really kicked on with 22 League Once goals and counting this term.
That earned him the brilliant nickname of "Loch Ness Drogba", a moniker he's particularly happy with.
He told the Northern Echo in August: "I’ve been told about the nickname. A few of the lads have had a bit of banter with it.
"I love it though, I think it’s a cracker. Whoever came up with it deserves a bit of credit. I’ve certainly been called worse, on and off the pitch. I’m happy to go with it."
And he hit another big milestone last month when Clarke picked him for friendlies against Poland and Austria, though he must wait for his first cap after not featuring in either.
But where will he be playing his football next year?
Multiple suitors
Giovanni van Bronckhort's side are not the only team rumoured to have their eye on the striker.
They may face stiff competition after Norwich City and Swansea City were also linked.
Norwich are currently rock bottom of the English Premier League with relegation looking likely.
Swansea sit mid-table in the Championship with their hopes of reaching a play-off place almost gone but both would be far more attractive than another season in League One if the Black Cats can't clinch promotion.
But boss Neil has been resolute, insisting this week: "Ross has done really well for us, but the simple fact is that if we can continue to make progress and get ourselves out of this league, then naturally players will want to be here and play here.
"It really is as simple as that.
"The simple fact is that he’s our contracted player. He’s done well, but he’s done well because he’s been given a chance at this club. I’m sure he’ll be respectful of that as well.
"But I’m not going into the remaining games worrying that if I don’t win them, or we don’t win them, then Ross might see his future elsewhere. I don’t think about that with any of the players, it doesn’t even cross my mind at the moment."
