Who is presenting This Morning today? Alison Hammond joined by new co-host

This Morning has undergone a shake-up on Monday, May 2 as another co-host joins Alison Hammond for the bank holiday instalment. The 47-year-old usually presents the show with Dermot O'Leary on Friday mornings and holiday editions of the ITV daytime series.

However, Alison was joined by presenter Craig Doyle on Monday morning. ITV tweeted the news ahead of the show and wrote: "Happy bank holiday Monday. We have a special guest presenter this morning, Craig Doyle! Alongside this legend @AlisonHammond. Join us from 10am."

After being introduced by Alison, Craig said: "It's so weird [being on the show] I love it though." He continued: "The music, you and the gang here, it's great!"

"Lovely," Alison replied before explaining to viewers: "Dermot's having a day off today." Craig added: "This is such a big deal to come into this studio and do this."

Who is Craig Doyle?

The 51-year-old is a TV and radio presenter in Ireland and viewers may recognise him as he had appeared on This Morning before, more recently hosting ITV's competition segment from around the Emerald Isle, reports Manchester Evening News.

Craig is the main anchor on BT Sport Premiership and European Champions Cup rugby coverage. Craig is also a presenter on ITV's Rugby World Cup coverage.

Some may also recognise Craig as a blast from the past as he used to host the children's programme Diggit on GMTV from 1998 to 2002 with Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates.

He is also known as the host of RTÉ One chat show Tonight with Craig Doyle and RTÉ Two's Craig Doyle Live in Ireland.

Craig informed his Instagram followers he would be presenting This Morning on Sunday might. Posting a picture outside the studio with a suitcase, he wrote: "So excited about hosting This Morning tomorrow I have arrived 14 hours early for work!" He added: "Join @alisonhammond55 and I from 10 am @thismorning @itv."
