The Premiership action takes a backseat for Scotland and their exploits, but there’s still a game taking place at Ibrox.
A team of Rangers legends will take on a Rest of the World XI with Light Blues fans still able to get their football fix away from the international scene. Billed as the “Weekend of Legends,” some legitimate stars of the game will take to the pitch in order to raise money for the Rangers Former Players Benevolent Club.
It is the second year the event has been hosted in Govan. Last year, the Ibrox favourites from yesteryear took on a team led by Luis Figo. The visitors narrowly won 3-2, with Shota Arveladze netting before an emotional late goal from Paul Gascoigne received a big response from fans. Former Porto and Portugal star Ricardo Quaresma got the winner after Carlos Marchena and Nuno Gomes also hit the target.
But who is taking part this time around? Record Sport has all the confirmed names so far.
