Patrick Kielty is a firm favourite for the Late Late Show presenter role, although no official announcement has been made on the high profile gig.
Bookies were forced to suspend betting after predictions soared in the Northern Irish comedian's favour. Patrick himself teased the rumour mill at the IFTA award ceremony this weekend and described the RTE show as "one of the greatest" on the planet.
Patrick has a long history in the public eye through his work as a comedian and TV personality. The 52-year-old started off his comedy career in Dublin's stand up club, The Gasworks.

The Down native later set up his own comedy club back in Belfast and had a string of successful TV gigs. Notable presenting credits include his work on 'Last Chance Lottery' and 'Patrick Kielty Almost Live,' which aired the first interview withGeorge Best after the footballer's liver transplant.
Patrick also presented a powerful documentary entitled 'My Dad, the Peace Deal and Me' in 2018. The piece delved into the tragic death of his father, who was shot dead in 1988 by paramilitary group Ulster Freedom Fighters.
Fortunately ,the comedian has a happy family life in the present day. The star married presenter and model Cat Deeley back in 2012 in an intimate ceremony in Rome. The couple have two children together, born in 2016 and 2018.
