BBC’S Question Time is set to come to Glasgow on Thursday night.
Plenty of topics are likely to be discussed from the Tories’ new anti-strike legislation to the recent debate around transgender prisoners.
We’ve put together a list of who is appearing on Thursday night’s show.
When is Question Time on and how can I watch?
Question Time will be broadcast on BBC iPlayer from 8pm and then on BBC One after the 10 o’clock news.
Jenny Gilruth
The MSP for Mid Fife and Glenrothes currently serves as the Scottish Government’s Transport Secretary.
Gilruth first became an active member of the SNP’s student wing while studying in Glasgow and served on the national executive of Young Scots for Independence.
She taught modern studies at Royal High School in Edinburgh before working as the head of social subjects at St Columba’s RC High School in Dunfermline.
John Lamont
Lamont currently serves as a minister in the Scotland Office having been elected as the MP for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk in 2017.
The seat was previously held by the SNP’s Calum Kerr. Prior to being elected as an MP, Lamont served as an MSP from 2007 to 2011.
He was previously slammed after being shown a video of himself defending Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng’s disastrous mini-budget.
He worked as a solicitor for a number of years before moving into politics and in 2014 became the first UK politician to complete an Ironman Triathlon.
Ian Murray
Murray is the Labour Party’s only MP in Scotland. He was first elected as the representative for Edinburgh South in 2010.
He currently serves as the shadow secretary of state for Scotland. He previously worked as a councillor in Edinburgh for the wards of Liberton and Liberton/Gilmerton from 2003 to 2010.
Prior to entering politics, Murray worked at the Royal Blind Aslyum – a specialist school for pupils who are blind or partially sighted.
He was also headhunted by an Edinburgh-based internet TV station but the company ran out of money and Murray went onto found his own event management business.
India Willoughby
Broadcaster and commentator India Willoughby has written for a number of publications including the Daily Mirror, Mail on Sunday and The Independent.
She became Britain’s first transgender TV newsreader after hosting 5News on Channel 5.
In a recent interview with The Herald, she said that nobody was “coming to the rescue” of trans people apart from Nicola Sturgeon.
She has also previously appeared on Celebrity Big Brother.
Ella Whelan
Whelan works as a journalist and filmmaker and wrote the non-fiction book What Women Want: Fun Freedom And An End To Feminism.
She previously worked as the assistant editor at spiked – an internet magazine focusing on politics, culture and society - and hosted the spiked podcast between 2015 and 2018.
The writer also represents one half of Lobster Films – a production company making political documentaries about various issues.
