The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is back for season two, and it’s promising to be just as chaotic as the first. The teaser trailer is out, and it’s packed with major scandals, sodas, and a brand new face: TikTok influencer Miranda McWhorter.
You might remember her as Taylor Frankie Paul‘s ex-BFF, but their friendship went up in flames during Taylor’s infamous swinging scandal.
Miranda, who has a whopping 1.2 million followers on TikTok, was once part of the original MomTok crew. She even auditioned for the show but decided not to join initially as reported by Distractify.
In fact, last year Taylor Frankie Paul posted a TikTok about certain people not wanting to be on the show if she was on it, with many users commenting Miranda’s name.
No matter what Miranda’s reasons were for opting out of the show, she’s now diving headfirst into the drama. As she arrives at a group event, Demi Engemann can’t help but gasp, “Wait, that’s the girl that was swinging with Taylor!” It’s clear that Miranda and Taylor’s past is going to stir up some serious tension.
Miranda recently divorced her husband of seven years, Chase McWhorter, and both were rumoured to be involved in Taylor’s swinging scandal. Initially, they denied it, but Chase later spilled the beans. He told Us Weekly last year that these gatherings started during COVID as a bunch of friends getting together, playing games like spin the bottle, and getting pretty wild. However, he insisted it wasn’t that serious.
“It all started during Covid. … [It was] a bunch of our friends coming — couples — and then we’d all get trashed on alcohol and then, like, these games would come up. Spin the bottle or whatever,” Chase explained.
“It was never predetermined that we were going to be doing, like, swinging. That’s what we always thought was a little bit misrepresented in Taylor’s story, as she presents it.”
He also mentioned that both he and Miranda were shocked when they found out Taylor had been having an affair with one of the other husbands in their tight-knit group, describing the news as “like a nuclear bomb [got] dropped”.
“That immediately meant, basically, two divorces,” Chase explained.
Rumours of Miranda, Taylor and Chase being involved were exacerbated when a Reddit user clocked some affectionate comments on Miranda’s Instagram three years ago.

Meanwhile, Taylor’s relationship with Dakota Mortensen seems to be on shaky ground this season. The trailer shows them arguing, with Dakota confronting a shirtless guy and screaming, “Did you touch my wife?”
Things quickly escalate, with someone frantically shouting, “The police are here!”
It’s clear shit is really going down in the upcoming season and with Miranda joining the cast, it’s going to be interesting to see how her complicated past with Taylor plays out. Season two premieres on May 15 and if you want all the behind the scenes tea we know so far, read HERE.
