Want to get better acquainted with Love Island: Aftersun's Sam Thompson? Here's everything you need to know about the show's panelist, from his own reality TV background to his relationship with former islander Zara McDermott.
With the new season of the show now underway (here's how to watch Love Island UK if you need to catch up), the show's weekly roundup, Aftersun—where they discuss all the islanders' antics from the past week—is back, with panelists Sam and Indiyah Polack joining host, Maya Jama for their sophomore season.
But who is Sam Thompson and where might you already know him from? Here's all the intel on the former Made In Chelsea star...
Who is Sam Thompson and why is he famous?
Sam, 30, is an English reality TV star, best known for his stint on Made In Chelsea, a show following the lives of a group of affluent young men and women in their 20s, who live in the borough of Chelsea, in London (UK). He appeared on the show from 2013 to 2019 and is also the younger brother of one of the OG cast members, Louise Thompson—who also left the show in 2019.
Since then, Sam has gone on to feature on other UK shows like Celebs Go Dating and The Circle, as well as Celebrity Big Brother back in 2017. Most recently he's also starred in a Channel 4 documentary titled, Sam Thompson: Is this ADHD?, where he explores his diagnosis.
Before landing the gig of Love Island: Aftersun panelist (along with his spot on Love Island: The Morning After podcast), Sam also became a TikTok favorite for his hilarious coverage of Love Island season 8—especially when he captured the real-time reaction of his girlfriend when her former Love Island co-star and ex-boyfriend Adam Collard returned to the villa.
So who is Sam Thompson's girlfriend?
As mentioned, Sam is in a relationship with documentary presenter and Love Island season four alum, Zara McDermott—who yes, coupled up with and dated Adam Collard (if you want a recap of Adam's notorious OG Love Island journey we've got you).
Aside from her time in the villa though, she also appeared alongside Sam in Made In Chelsea back in 2019, after they first started dating. It was then famously revealed on the show that Zara had been unfaithful, resulting in their split in 2020.
Zara and Sam went on to rekindle things in November 2020 though and are still going strong today—they even make TikTok videos together. Exhibit A...

Before his long-term relationship with Zara, fans might also remember that Sam also dated fellow MIC co-star, Tiffany Watson.
What is Sam Thompson's net worth?
According to The Sun, Sam's net worth is thought to be around the figures of £850,000 and £1 million. Though with his latest Love Island role, we'd guess that number has bumped up slightly!
