Lindsay Lohan has given birth to a son named Luai, her first child with her husband, Bader Shammas.
The 37-year-old actress announced this week she has become a mother for the first time — and the news comes at a time when her film career is getting back on track.
A statement for the star reads: “Lindsay Lohan and her financier husband, Bader Shammas, welcomed a beautiful, healthy son named Luai. The family is over the moon in love.”
The exact date of the birth is not known. Lohan has not recently updated her social media accounts but most recently posted an update on her Instagram with a picture of a baby outfit and a message reading, “We are blessed and excited”.
Lohan has kept a low profile on her relationship since she got married to Shammas — about whom there is little reported online.
This is all we know about the couple and their relationship.
Who is Bader Shammas?
Shammas is from Kuwait and works in Dubai as a financier. It was in the UAE capital that the pair met and now live.
The pair met seven years ago when Lohan moved to the middle eastern country.
They started dating in 2018 and married last July in a secret ceremony. She wrote on Instagram: “I am the luckiest woman in the world. You found me and knew that I wanted to find happiness and grace, all at the same time. I am stunned that you are my husband.”
What is Lindsay Lohan doing now?
After breaking through as a child star in The Parent Trap, Lohan went on to land roles in teen dramas such as Mean Girls and Freaky Friday. From there, she was considered one of the hottest young prospects in Hollywood and even landed a record deal.
However, she suffered a rocky period in her twenties as she experienced personal struggles which would set her back professionally and her career stalled. During this time, she released a personal documentary through Oprah Winfrey’s OWN cable network.
After moving to Dubai when she turned 30, Lohan has appeared to have got her personal life back on track and is now having a career renaissance.
In November 2021, she appeared in the Netflix production Falling for Christmas and has reportedly agreed to appear in two more films with the streaming giant. This includes Irish Wish, which is set for release next year.
