As The Masked Singer UK continues, many questions are being asked about the guessing game, including the clues behind those still left in the competition and the identity of the contestants who have already been unmasked.
The latest instalment of the show saw Sue Perkins identified as Dragon and Gabrielle as Harlequin, while Morten Harket was previously revealed as Viking and Blob unmasked as Lenny Henry . You can find a full list here of the celebrity reveals that have already occurred on the 2021 series here.
These also include Alien, Seahorse, Swan, Grandfather Clock and Bush Baby. Find out more here.
But who is left in the competition and what are the theories so far? Here's all the details as The Masked Singer UK heads into the semi-final.
Robin
Who is Robin on The Masked Singer UK? Popular guesses have included JLS singer Aston Merrygold and The X Factor star Olly Murs.
Another popular guess is Westlife member Nicky Byrne, who recently posted a video of a Robin he spotted during a walk on his own Twitter page. You can read more about that theory here.
Clues in Robin's first performance included mentions of "training" and "fighting fit" and Robin also said: "I may be a Robin, but I have been known to fly without wings."
In their second performance Robin made many football references, and said: "Being out on the field takes a lot of co-ordination, it's like a sort of dance.
"I've really puffed out my chest in pride when I've represented my country."
Robin's two lies and a truth were:
- My real name is out of this world.
- This Robin's Habitat is more tropical than you think.
- I started performing by doing impressions.
Latest performance clues: "It might surprise you, but I've not always been the bright and confident bird I am today. The most exciting aviary is one with diversity. I know just how valuable a mentor can be."
Backstage footage: Robin was seen waving to apparent screaming fans through a door.
Sausage
Who is Sausage on The Masked Singer UK? The popular character has many convinced actor Sheridan Smith is behind the mask. Other guesses have included The X Factor turned Loose Women star Stacey Soloman, as well as Louisa Johnson and Joss Stone.
In their second performance, Sausage said: "I don't need a glam party, I'm very happy with a couple of beers and a bag of potato snacks," which many thought was a reference to Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.
Sausage has also made nods to DIY and said their "performances are something of a balancing act".
In their third appearance, Sausage said: "I'll be honest with you - someone once said I look like a horse.
"I do enjoy hiding my face behind this mask, although its not the first time I've made sure you can't see my face in my work."
A new ITV advert for tonight's episode [Saturday, January 30] also put a spanner in the works, with eagle-eyed viewers noticing a clue. You can read more about it here.
Sausage's two lies and a truth were:
- My hair colour is officially certified by law.
- Someone once said I look like a popstar, I sound like a popstar and I am a popstar.
- I owe my career to a horse.
Backstage footage: Sausage was seen in campervan surrounded by camping gear
Badger
Who is Badger on The Masked Singer UK? Badger has had viewers and judges baffled from the very start, but popular guesses include American singer Ne-Yo, Welsh singer-songwriter Kelly Jones from Stereophonics and Kevin Clifton, former Strictly Come Dancing professional.
During their first VT, Badger said: "In my career, I've been totally used to being anonymous.
"Seriously, there have been times I could have been on the street surrounded by people, but nobody would have had any idea who I am."
They also added after their performance: "I see things like a virtual world."
Badger also made references to being shy and said they had a talent they "kept secret for years".
The character also told judges and viewers they had grown up in a "large household" with a creative family, however, it was Badger's song choice during the third performance and a clue in the last VT that left everyone convinced they knew the star behind the mask.
Last week, Badger sang "Because of You" by Kelly Clarkson, with host Joel Dommett saying each song was supposed to give a hint as to the identity of each performer.
Ne-Yo famously released an album of the same name. And fans also spotted a periodic table placed in the background of the most recent VT with the element "Ne" circled. You can read more on the theory here.
However, This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield thinks Badger could be his co-host Holly Willoughby. Read more on what he said here.
Badger's two lies and a truth were:
- I'm good at dodging furniture.
- When working, I'm often found in green.
- Strictly speaking, dancing is something I'm well known for.
Latest performance clues: "There's more than one type of studio this badger's familiar with. Does this sound cryptic? Good, because I love to play games. What I can tell you is that tonight, this Badger's going to come out fighting."
Backstage footage: The camera zoomed onto a note that read 'Badger, just wanted to say thank you. Love, Barbra'
Harlequin - eliminated
Who is Harlequin on The Masked Singer UK? Popular theories among both the judges and viewers at home were Gabrielle, Desiree and Beverley Knight. Following a double elimination, however, Gabrielle was revealed to be Harleqiun.
Before their first performance, Harlequin said they were "quite terrified" at the thought of walking on stage, leading many judges to believe the person behind the mask was not a singer. However, that quickly changed when Harlequin started singing, with Rita claiming they were in fact a "master at their craft" and guessed Tracy Chapman.
Davina McCall suggested musical theatre actress Beverley Knight, thinking it might be someone who hadn't sung on stage for a while, hence the nerves.
Many at home reckoned the voice was actually singer Gabrielle, best known for hits such as Dreams, Rise and Out of Reach.
But after Harlequin's second performance the judges were thrown following references to writing and storytelling, believing it could instead be a journalist on breakfast news. This led Good Morning Britain viewers to point to Charlotte Hawkins. Read what she said in response to the theories here.
In their third performance, Harleqiun made references to cleaning, and said: "A tidy home makes me very happy indeed, happy home happy mind."
Harlequin's two lies and a truth were:
- My bodyguard receives a lot of attention.
- I get up before the sun for work.
- I once turned down a prince.
Latest performance clues: "They say it's a man's world. I don't know about that. I did begin my career in a man's suit, which is maybe not that surprising. After all, I've stood shoulder to shoulder with dignitaries.
"I've chatted to world leaders, but none of them were a patch on the prince I once met. It knocks me off my feet to think of all the places I've been."
Backstage footage: The character was seen trying and struggling to pick a fan up from the floor.
Dragon - eliminated
Who is Dragon on The Masked Singer UK? Guesses for Dragon include Courtney Act, Michelle Visage and comedian Katherine Ryan. However, judges and viewers at home were surprised after Dragon was confirmed to be Sue Perkins.
In their first VT, Dragon said: "The Thing about dragons it they're all fire and strength on the outside, but they just want to be loved.
"Becoming a dragon has meant I've literally become a big character, but I'm not entirely sure that's how I'm usually thought of. Anyways, I mustn't drag on."
Clues in the background also saw the character in a "Dragon's Den" which judge Mo felt could be a reference to the long-running television show.
Dragon has also said they can't decide if they're "brave or silly" and it was a dare that started their career.
In their third performance Dragon said they'd been "all over the world" and added: "You can't deny there's destiny in me becoming the Dragon, it's like my journey started and ended with a giant winged costume. It's true, I'm no oath breaker."
Dragon's two lies and a truth were:
- My name is my biggest clue.
- I once had an embarrassing incident with a famous shoe.
- I know my own IQ backwards.
Latest performance clues: "Dragons have a very varied diet, I've had duck tongues, udders, trotters, and even pigs bums. I love to learn. I can devour books. If I was ever stranded on a desert island, it's probably a book I'd take with me."
Backstage footage: Dragon was seen standing by a microphone in a studio
Viking - eliminated
Who is Viking on The Masked Singer UK? Popular theories for Viking were Ricky Wilson and Martin Kemp, but it was Morten Harket that was unmasked in the latest instalment of the show.
In their first performance, the character discussed Vikings and said: "We are explorers, we forge our own way. We discover answers, and in my career, throughout this competition, I'll be looking for a voice."
Many felt that was a reference to Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky, who was also a coach on The Voice UK.
They added: "I may be a Viking, but I also wear another kind of armour," which led judge Rita Ora to guess Game of Thrones actor Alfie Allen.
Throughout other performances, Viking has made references to "creating tools" and "living by instincts".
He's also said: "Vikings might have been around for millennia, but my career has been one of billions - it was over a billion people that watched me do my thing."
ITV viewers also think Viking could be Morton Harket from A-ha, claiming he cleverly sang his own song, Take On Me, in order to throw people off during Viking's third appearance.
Viking's two lies and a truth were:
- I am the proud owner of a Blue Peter badge.
- My first hit dialled M for Murder.
- My early career relied on brotherly love.
Blob - eliminated
Who is Blob on The Masked Singer UK? Judges guessed Romesh Ranganathan and Greg Davies but ITV viewers were convinced Blob was Lenny Henry, and they were right.
Blob has made many nods to teaching in their VTs, and said before their second appearance: "In my last performance, the panel were getting some serious teacher vibes.
"I'm a bit of an academic, so maybe I can teach them a lesson in guessing."
Blob has also made references to wearing glasses, and told the panel they were a musician whose "career has seen me record with the best" as well as writing songs too.
The character also seems to be a bit of a comedian, with mentions of the "punchline" and putting "a smile on people's faces" in Blob's third performance.
After their last song, Hotel Room Service, many pointed out it could be a reference to Lenny Henry appearing in the Premier Inn adverts.
Blob's two lies and a truth were:
- I was named after a doctor.
- This blob is anything but squishy.
- I'm related to my sidekick.
