Who is left in The Apprentice and what is this week's task?

Nick Showering was the latest candidate fired from Lord Sugar’s boardroom last week. The 31-year-old is a qualified accountant from London.

Showering made it to week eight but his ‘poor negotiation skills’ led to him being fired from the competition. Lord Sugar said: “For eight weeks I’ve been waiting for you to get off the starting line, but regretfully the chequered flag has been waved, and so, it is with regret Nick... you're fired,”

Now only seven candidates remain for tonight’s challenge. Continue reading to find out who is left in The Apprentice and this week’s task.

Who is left in The Apprentice?

Online pyjama store owner and budding business woman Kathryn Louise Burn remains in the competition. From Swindon, this isn’t the first time Burn has appeared on TV, back in 2017 she took part in The Island with Bear Grylls.

Dessert parlour owner Harpreet Kaur is still in the running to become Lord Sugar’s business partner. She owns a six-figure coffee and cake business.

Online Children’s store owner Stephanie Affleck is still a candidate in the series. She graduated from the University of West London with a First Class Degree in Events management.

Hotel front of house manager Brittany Carter is still in the running. The 25-year-old from Bristol works at one of the Marriott Hotels in Bristol.

More men have been eliminated from the boardroom in the competition so far, leaving behind three male contestants. Flight operations instructor Aaron Willis is one of them. Strategy manager in finance Akeem Bundu-Kamara has got himself into deep trouble previously but he remains a candidate in the series.

Lastly, owner of digital marketing agency Akshay Thakrar is also a candidate despite being in the bottom three five times. Lord Sugar almost fired him last week so Thakrar really needs to step up his game with the task tonight.

What is this week's task?

The candidates will be tasked to sell live to the nation on one of the country’s leading TV shopping channels. The teams must identify the best products to sell and direct a promo to boost sales of one of their items.

They will get a one-hour prime-time sales slot live on TV and the team that generates the most sales wins.

The Apprentice is back on tonight on BBC One at 9pm.
