Adding to its already impressive range of binge-worthy TV series Netflix has just dropped a brand new drama entitled The Eddy.
From the Oscar-winning director behind La La Land and Whiplash, Damien Chazelle, the eight-part musical series focuses on the show’s eponymous jazz club in Paris, and the drama that befalls the owner.
With Bafta-winning writer Jack Thorne (National Treasure) and Grammy winner Glen Ballard collaborating alongside Chazelle, The Eddy looks set to be a surefire success.
As it arrives on the streaming, we take a look at the stars in the cast of The Eddy.
Andre Holland as Elliot Udo
Holland, who starred in the Oscar-winning Moonlight and 2014’s Selma plays lead Elliot Udo.
A celebrated jazz pianist from New York, he is now the co-owner of The Eddy.
Amandla Stenberg as Julie
The Hunger Games and The Hate U Give star plays Eddie’s teenage daughter Julie.
Joanna Kulig as Maja
The Polish actor, who has previously starred in Cold War as well as a number of Polish and French films, plays The Eddy’s lead singer, and has a tumultuous hot-and-cold relationship with Elliot.
Tahar Rahim as Farid
As well as appearing in a number of French films and being nominated as a Bafta Rising Star in 2009, French actor Tahir Rahim stars as Farid in the drama – Elliot’s business partner who gets his hands dirty due to his dodgy dealings.
Leïla Bekhti as Amira
The French actor, who played Kaa in the French translation of 2016’s The Jungle Book as well as Nadia in The Negotiator, plays Farid’s wife Amira. Amira is left in the dark about Farid’s ways, as he keeps her knowledge about his often questionable processes to a minimum.
