I'm A Celebrity 2022 contestant Babatúndé Aléshé's acting career, wife and being a Gogglebox fan favourite

The full line-up for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! 2022 has been revealed. This year's campmates, once again, include soap stars, newsreaders, singers and reality TV personalities. The series is set to return this Sunday, November 6.

Amongst this year's cast is Celebrity Gogglebox's Babatundé Aléshé. Upon joining the series, the 36-year-old comedian said: “I haven’t got time for arguments. I know seeing me freaking out every five minutes will be entertaining for everyone but this will be a first-time experience for all of us and I think my role will be as a tension breaker. We don’t need to be bickering behind each other’s backs. We are all in the same boat together."

But who exactly is Babatundé and how did he become a celebrity? Here's everything you need to know.

Babatunde can usually be found with Mo Gilligan on Gogglebox (Channel 4)

As mentioned, Babatundé is perhaps best known for his comedy double act with Mo Gilligan on Celebrity Gogglebox. The pair can regularly be seen laughing at some of the week's best television and are considered fan favourites on the Channel 4 show.

Babatundé has also toured Britain doing stand up comedy. He won Best Newcomer at the Black Entertainment Comedy Awards and has performed at venues like the O2 and the Hackney Empire. In 2019, he won the Amused Moose National New Comic Award and was selected to appear on Dave Chapelle’s live showcase The Process.

Aside from comedy, Babatundé also has acting work under his belt. In 2011, he played Sam, the specialist nurse who tended to Tanya Jessop whilst she was having her first chemotherapy session in EastEnders. He has also had starring roles in Law & Order: UK, Doctor Who, Waking the Dead and New Tricks.
