The Bellagraph Nova Group want to make one of their co-founders Evangeline Shen the first Premier League chairwoman at Newcastle United.
It emerged over the weekend that the Paris-based group have held talks with Mike Ashley over a takeover of the club after PCP Capital Partners, the Reuben Brothers and the Saudi Public Investment Fund's group fell through.
It is believed BN Group's initial proposal fell below Ashley's asking price but Ms Shen, and Singaporean cousins and entrepreneurs Nelson and Terence Loh who are behind the bid, remain keen.
The trio are driving a project to buy the Magpies and have made contact with Ashley's legal team. They have sought out former Newcastle striker Michael Chopra for advice, while they are also believed to be keen to offer Newcastle legend Alan Shearer a role at the club.
It is thought any deal would see Ms Shen become the primary decision maker on the club's board.
Who is Evangelina Shen?
Shen was recently named the new chairman of the Bellagraph Nova group and she is described on the company's website as someone who is 'redefining the female corporate trailblazer'.
Ms Shen is a graduate of Fudan University in China and began her career at Jinmao LLP, one of Asia's leading law firms where she was one of the youngest executives at 25.
She later worked in investment banking with UBS and Morgan Stanley before launching her own business projects Bellagraph Jewelry and Novena Bellagraph Medical Group.
It was in June this year that Ms Shen merged her business with the Loh cousins' DORR Group, to create the Bellagraph Nova group that are bidding to buy Newcastle.
In December, Ms Shen and the Loh's met with the former president of the United States, Barack Obama in a closed door discussion to share their views on how 'technology will bring about the next industrial revolution'.
As a result of the meeting, the trio created NETX, which is described as: 'An exciting new division focused on the development and application of robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. '

The Bellagraph Nova website, unsurprisingly, describe Ms Shen in glowing terms.
