Danish professional footballer Christian Eriksen has become well-known worldwide for his roles in teams such as Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspurs. However, the soccer star has always remained quite private about his personal life.
Following his shocking collapse last night during Denmark’s opening Euro 2020 match against Finland that saw Eriksen's wife rush to his side, we take a look at Eriksen’s life off the pitch.
Eriksen is married to Sabrina Kvist, and the couple have two children together.
Who is the woman married to the soccer star?
Sabrina, who is originally from Tommerup in Denmark, is a trained hairdresser and now lives in London with her husband.
The wife of the football star has stayed clear of the typical WAG lifestyle as she prefers to keep her personal life private.
Eriksen had already been playing for Spurs for some time when Sabrina decided to move to England after qualifying to become a hairdresser.
When she arrived in England, Sabrina took up a job working in a clothing store.
Eriksen said it was initially difficult for the couple to adjust to the London lifestyle, but the couple decided to make it work and bought a house in the Hampstead area in 2016.
He said, “You have to learn how to cope physically and mentally, but I can handle the pressure and the demands because I live seven days a week for my job.
“That is very tough for my girlfriend. Of course, I would like to go out in the city with her and friends, but it just doesn't fit in with playing in England."
Do the couple have any children?
The couple began their relationship in 2012 and have been going strong for almost nine years.
In December 2017, Eriksen announced through Instagram that he and Sabrina were expecting their first child together.
In a post to his 1.5m followers, he said, "Mum & Dad to be #proud #2018."
The couples first son was born the following summer, and Eriksen was granted leave from the World Cup to travel back to be with his wife for the birth.
The couple welcomed their second children together in December as Eriksen announced the news on his Instagram account saying, "Family of four".
