Who is Chelcee Grimes on Soccer Aid 2020?

Chelcee Grimes is set to make her Soccer Aid debut on Sunday.

The big charity football match is finally going ahead after being postponed in June due to the coronavirus pandemic.

An England team will take on a World XI side at Old Trafford in a bid to be crowned Soccer Aid 2020 champs.

And Chelcee will be joining the likes of Jason Manford and Iain Stirling in the World XI squad.

The 28-year-old, from Liverpool, is not only a singer and songwriter but a footballer too.

Chelcee began playing for Liverpool Ladies aged 10 and during her career she has played for Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Tranmere Rovers.

She is currently playing as a forward for Fulham Ladies while also working on her music career and as presenter of Match of the Day spin-off show, MOTDx on BBC Two.

Chelcee is an established songwriter having written for the likes of Kylie Minogue, Kesha and Dua Lipa.

Soccer Aid will be broadcast live on ITV and sadly no fans will be allowed at the stadium.

The charity match raises money for Unicef, which helps to support the organisations vital work protecting children in the UK and globally.

This year the charity will also recognised the impact coronavirus is having around the world.

As a result, this year, every £1 donated is automatically trebled thanks to the UK Government and Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance.
